In the time flies series, Viktoria Schmid captures the fleeting phenomenon of shadows using the UV-sensitive process of cyanotype. The shadows act like a negative during exposure. The artist‘s various places of work and residence are depicted in abstract shadow images that can also be read as single frames of a film. Each series comprises a series of cyanotypes exposed at the same location at intervals. The time, date, and location of the exposure are recorded in the work‘s subtitle.
